That’s why we proudly support the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) — The federal initiative designed to make dental care more affordable for those without private insurance. Whether you’re a returning patient or visiting us for the first time, we’re here to help you understand what’s covered, what’s not, and how to get the best care you need through the CDCP.

What Is the CDCP?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a national dental coverage program created by the federal government.
It’s designed for eligible Canadian residents who don’t have private dental insurance.
The program helps cover the cost of common dental services, including: Cleanings, exams, fillings, and much more.

Who Can Apply?

You can qualify for the CDCP if all the following apply:

You don’t have private dental insurance
Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000
You’re a Canadian resident (for tax purposes)
You filed a tax return in the previous year

What's Covered?

The CDCP helps cover many common dental services based on your eligibility.
This can include preventive care, basic treatments, and other essential dental services.

As of June 2025, based on the latest federal guidelines, the following covered services include:

Preventive & Diagnostic Services

Routine and emergency dental exams
X-rays and oral cancer screenings
Cleanings (scaling and polishing)
Fluoride treatments
Sealants for cavity prevention

Restorative & Endodontic Services

Fillings (temporary and permanent)
Toothache and pain relief treatments
Root canal therapy (front teeth and some others, with pre-approval)

Periodontal (Gum) Care

Deep gum cleanings (root planing and scaling)
Treatment of gum infections and abscesses
Splinting of teeth (pre-approval required)

Major Restorative Services

Crowns and post-core treatments (pre-approval may be required)
Crown repairs and rebonding

Prosthodontics (Dentures)

Complete and partial removable dentures
Adjustments, repairs, relines, and rebases
Immediate and overdentures (may require pre-approval)

Oral Surgery

Simple and complex tooth extractions
Removal of oral cysts or tumours
Treatment of infections or abscesses
Jaw fracture repairs

Sedation & Anesthesia

Conscious/minimal sedation
Moderate sedation (requires pre-approval)
Deep sedation and general anesthesia (pre-approval required)

Orthodontics (Starting in 2025, Date TBD)

Available for certain medically necessary cases only
Strict eligibility criteria
Requires full pre-authorization

Important Notes

Most cosmetic treatments (e.g., veneers, whitening, implants) are not covered
Custom sports mouthguards and TMJ appliances are excluded
Pre-approval is required for many major or complex services
Balance billing may apply if clinic fees exceed CDCP maximums
Frequency limits apply to cleanings and exams (e.g., once per year unless medically necessary)
